In addition to bad parking and a PA that no one at the club appears to know how to run, there is also a big problem with getting management to follow through on the simplest promotional activity.

My band had booked a handful of dates over the space of three months. During that time, we gently suggested, then firmly asked, and finally nagged the people at Dick's to update their web site calendar to indicate the dates we were playing. This never got done.

We finally ended up canceling the last gig there because, if they didn't care and at least make an effort, why should we?

Before the very first gig, management at Dick's insisted that we all come down during the afternoon to set up early and get a sound check. We arrived to find a bunch of junk on stage that nobody was willing to move, thus making set up impossible. That wasted trip should have tipped us off that things were going to go downhill swiftly.

Parking's a nightmare. Low wages. Bad sound system.
