Uses of Personal Information

We may use your email address to communicate with you about our activities, offerings or organizing efforts, including those of the AFM, unless you opt-out from receiving such messages. We will also use your email address for administrative purposes, such as notifying you of major Website changes, sending messages related to actions you have taken on the site or for customer service purposes. Although we hope you’ll find these communications informative and useful, you may opt out of receiving future information.
When you send email or other communications to us, we may retain those communications in order to process your inquiries, respond to your requests and improve our services.

Personal messaging. In order to allow you to send and receive personal messages to other registered users of Venuology without revealing your email address, we record the messages that you send and receive using Venuology’s personal messaging feature. Users will not be able see your email address, but we will use your email address to notify you of new messages from our mail system, unless you opt out of receiving these emails.

We may also share your user-contributed content and user name with AFM Locals. We will allow Locals to contact you through the Venuology personal messaging system. Please also note that the personal messages you send or receive using Venuology’s personal messaging feature are only private to the extent that you and the sender/recipient keep them private. For example, we do not have any control over whether a recipient of one of your personal messages publicly posts the contents of such a message.

To the extent you include personal information in your submissions (such as an identifiable user name or a photo of yourself), third parties may be able to identify you, associate you with your user account, or contact you. If you are concerned about maintaining your anonymity, we encourage you to not post any information that might identify you.
We use both your personally identifying information and certain non-personally-identifying information (such as anonymous usage data, IP addresses, browser type, click data, etc.) to improve the quality of your user experience and the design of the Website and to create new features, functionality, and services by storing, tracking, and analyzing user behavior, preferences, trends, and actions.

Other Disclosures
We may be required to disclose user information pursuant to lawful requests, such as subpoenas or court orders, or in compliance with applicable laws. If we receive a subpoena requesting information about you and if you have provided us with your email address, we will attempt to notify you of the subpoena at the email address that you have provided.
