It is a premier venue. Sound system is a little iffy. The problem here is the pay. They take a HUGE cut based on how many you do (or don't) bring through the door. One problem is the door idiot gets $100 off the top. All he does is sit and read his book. He doesn't know who is playing and doesn't check to see if seating is available. Then the bar manager takes her cut, this is after she stops taking phone calls early in the afternoon from people wanting to make reservations. Her customer service skills are non-existent. The door count is ALWAYS off which screws the musicians. The food is average or below and it takes 45 minutes to get a drink. Worst cocktailers ever. If you want it on your resume, go ahead. If you want to work your butt off, pack the place and get screwed on the pay - this is the place to be.

Best venue in Portland for a show that is likely to draw 200 patrons willing to pay a moderate cover charge. Good food, good decor.

Probably the premiere music club in Portland.
